URNER I STUEN? / URNS IN THE LIVING ROOM?

This project is a study and formal exploration of urns. 

In today's Denmark, cremation is the choice of over 80% of the population, surpassing traditional burials. The shift led me to examine the available urn options, which I found to be predominantly impersonal. 

However, the idea of integrating urns into homes was interesting to me. Can an urn become a part of a home without evoking the imagery of an altar?

My goal was to create forms that are both subtle and visually captivating. Through these final pieces, I intend to provoke new thoughts about our evolving relationship with death today. I want to bring the essence of our loved ones home, allowing us to cherish their memory in our daily lives with thoughtfulness and respect.
